California Late Garlic - silverskin garlic (softneck) - One of the most common garlic varieties grown. Large bulbs produce 12-16 good size cloves. More on the hot side with a classic garlic flavor. Later maturing than California Early. Ripens in July. Stores about 8-12 months. Great all around use garlic that is also great for baking. Very easy to grow. Sold by the pound. Type the amount wanted into the quantity box.
Where winters are milder (like our area) garlic is planted from October through January.
Garlic will make the largest bulbs in fertile soil with lots of organic matter, so amend your soil as nessesary.
Break the bulbs into individual cloves and plant 4-6" apart in rows that are 12" apart. Aprox 1" deep, root side down.
Fertilize in spring with a little chicken manure and a slow release organic fertilizer like cottonseed meal or Cal Organic 7-5-7.
Harvest is based on the type of garlic. Once the tops start to die down usually June-July.

I recently received my order of California Late White garlic and I couldn't be more pleased. I received big heads with large cloves in beautiful clean wrappers. The garlic was cushioned in brown paper and it arrived in perfect condition. Thank you, Harmony Farm.
