Larvae only feed on soft bodied insects including aphids, leafhoppers, spider mites, thrips, and many insect eggs especially caterpillars. Adults feed on honeydew, nectar and pollen and will lay more eggs where insectary plants are present. Orders are sent as hatching eggs/larvae and they are supplied with a food source but shipments should be timed so they can be released upon arrival. Larvae will search your plants for prey for 2-3 weeks and then pupate into adults to start the cycle over. During warm summer weather egg to adult can happen in 30 days. Field Crops:(Chrysoperla carnea) Release 2 larvae/sq. ft. planted area, or 10,000 to 50,000/acre/year. Time shipments to release weekly to monthly as needed.
