Trichogramma platneri: these parasitic wasps attack egg stage of many different moths and butterflies. Use for trees in Western United States. Time releases for peak egg laying using pheromone traps and field inspection. Usually weekly releases for 4-6 weeks for each generation of egg-laying periods. 100,000 are sent. Use Platneri for avocado pests and codling moth: Avocado (omnivorous looper, Amorbia): 40,000 to 200,000/acre. Fruit Orchard (codling moth): 5000/tree or 100,000 per acre/week (where CM pop low and/or with pheromone confusion). -- or 200,000/acre/week (high pop).
